We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. As a Senior SRE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. You will work with development and operations teams to build and maintain robust infrastructure, automate processes, and improve overall system health.
Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.
Reporting Relationship: You will report to Manager, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps.
Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance through monitoring.

Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.

Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on Azure.

Develop and maintain automation
-
Trace and resolve issues in applications written in Java and JavaScript.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.

Define, monitor, and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets to ensure system reliability and performance.

Collaborate with development teams to deliver services via CI/CD pipelines.

Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.

Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning to meet business needs.

Document processes and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

Collaborate with and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Drive strategic initiatives to enhance system reliability and performance.

Promote SRE best practices and standards.
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
-
5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or a similar role.
-
Strong background in Linux operating systems.
-
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Azure, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Bash, Ruby) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform).

Knowledgeable in Java and JavaScript.

Experience monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace, CheckMK).

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (GitHub), and DevOps practices.

Experience with networking, security, and system administration.

Understanding of PCI standards and compliance requirements (is considered an asset)

Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (is considered an asset)

Familiarity with various monitoring tools and practices (is considered an asset)

Knowledge of coding best practices, focusing on maintainability and security (is considered an asset)
