About your role:
We are seeking an exceptional engineer with expertise in building backend systems that will enable millions of Donors and Giving Partners to do more good. As a senior member of the team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our backend infrastructure. You will lead critical projects and features through all elements of the product development life cycle and help solve complex engineering problems. Your team:
Givelify is a technology company. Our Technology Team is at the heart of our organization. We are a cross-functional group spanning mobile, frontend, backend, test automation, data analytics, research, and infrastructure. Collectively, we build the products and launch innovative systems that form the foundation of our giving platform. As a backend API engineer, you will be an integral part of this team, focusing on creating and optimizing the services and APIs that drive our platform's functionality and support millions of donors in doing more good.
The Senior Software Engineer - Backend will get to:
- Engineer highly available and scalable real-time software systems.
- Drive the software development life cycle from requirements gathering, development, testing to deployment.
- Be responsible for the timely and successful delivery of high-quality software products.
- Be responsible for the quality of user experience through the quality of the systems under your stewardship.
To be successful in this role, you’ll also:
- Partner with members of our technology, design, product, support, marketing in an agile cross functional setting.
- Work with our front-end team to fine tune our REST APIs.
- Work with Givelify’s research team to implement machine learning and other computational algorithms to bring complex insights to life.
- Work with our DevOps team to ensure a scalable, secure, redundant, distributed production environment system.
- Mentor and grow junior engineers.
Your experience:
- B.S./ M.S./Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent STEM degree
- Experience in building large-scale distributed web applications.
- Deep understanding of graph design principles with a strong background in back-end development environment while constructing APIs.
- Optimization of databases for big data environment, structuring of queries for fast responses.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google App Engine, etc.).
- Deep understanding of big O notation and algorithm complexity analysis.
