The Job At-A-Glance:

PrecisionLender’s (PL) Business Advisory team seeks a talented SQL Database Analyst with a strong background in relational databases and financial expertise, either through CFA certification or commercial banking experience. The ideal candidate will manage and optimize cross-team data usage, ensure data integrity, and provide financial analysis and insights. This role requires a collaborative team player committed to shared goals.

A Typical Day:

  • Deliver complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to extract and manipulate data.
  • Guide customers to ensure data aligns with pricing strategies and internal processes.
  • Advise internal teams (Sales, Delivery, Product Development) on engagement data and key financial metrics, including net interest income, return on equity, and capital allocations.
  • Monitor commercial pricing process at banks on data and reporting needs. 
  • Partner with product teams to develop data structures that meet client needs.
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases via SQL / Python scripts for business applications.
  • Develop complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
  • Perform financial analysis and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Document database structures, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in database management and financial analysis.

Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:

  • Typically, 8+ years of experience in financial institutions, 3+ years within a large national or global bank with focus on commercial loan pricing, risk management, finance, analytics, or similar functions. Cross functional experience in these areas preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products, particularly credit and treasury products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • CFA certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in SQL / Python database management and relational databases.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL / Python programming and query optimization.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.
