Are you recognized as an expert to transform technical documents into clear and effective resources?

As a Senior Technical Writer at Coveo, you will create and maintain clear, precise documentation to help users leverage Coveo's software for the commerce business. You’ll simplify complex technical concepts, ensuring the documentation is accurate and accessible. In addition to writing, you'll mentor junior writers, stay updated on industry trends, and help standardize processes.

Your work will directly impact the adoption of our Intelligent Search solutions, collaborating with developers, product managers, support agents, and other writers to produce high-quality content.

Here is a glimpse at your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development and product teams to gather feature information and test it, then organize it into accurate, clear, and concise documentation.
  • Draft and review articles in Visual Studio Code, keeping them up to date with the latest product changes.
  • Work in Confluence, Slack, Zoom, and JIRA to communicate with developers and other team members about features, bugs, and documentation tasks.
  • Write and update in-product user interface copy and provide suggestions for UX improvements.
  • Use GitHub Actions to publish your content to the web and ensure that documentation is consistently up-to-date and publicly available.
  • Take part in agile project workflows by attending scrum meetings and integrating into development cycles to keep documentation synchronized with feature releases.
  • Create content that simplifies technical concepts and makes them easily understandable for users across the world.
  • Develop new processes and standards, or optimize existing ones, to enhance documentation efficiency and quality.

What will qualify you for the role:

  • At least 8 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong ability to break down complex software features and explain them in simple, user-friendly terms.
  • Experience with a variety of tools, including Visual Studio Code, Confluence, Slack, JIRA, Figma, Git, GitHub, and markup languages such as AsciiDoc/Markdown.
  • Be a proactive communicator who can gather information from various sources and collaborate effectively with teams across the organization.
  • Continuously refine documentation practices based on user feedback and industry trends.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and tools, specifically around AI, and you have experience supporting their integration into your team workflow.

What would make you stand out:

  • Experience writing for software and technical products, particularly in cloud-based technologies.
  • Comfort with technical environments and tools, and an eagerness to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and stay organized while managing multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with software development cycles and an understanding of how to document features in sync with releases.
