What is the opportunity?
Search is evolving faster than ever, and we need a strategist who can lead our clients through the transition from traditional SEO to the new world of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You won’t just be managing keywords; you will be an architect of visibility, ensuring our clients' brands are the authoritative voices cited by AI Overviews and LLM-powered discovery engines. You will bridge the gap between technical engineering, content strategy, and executive-level business outcomes.
What will you achieve?
- GEO Framework Implementation: Within your first six months, you will develop and deploy a standardized GEO framework across our portfolio, optimizing site structures for entity clarity and semantic relevance to secure citations in AI-driven search experiences.
- Organic Growth & Quality: You will be responsible for defining and driving SEO/GEO success metrics that tie directly to traffic quality and conversions, using GA4 and Search Console to prove the business impact of your roadmaps.
- Subject Matter Leadership: You will act as the internal "source of truth" for search, mentoring junior team members and partnering with Engineering and UX to embed search-informed architecture into the very foundation of every build.
What do you need for this role?
To succeed in these challenges, you must be proficient with:
- Advanced Technical SEO: 6+ years of hands-on experience, with deep knowledge of JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, and headless architectures.
- GEO & Entity Modeling: Demonstrated experience with AI Overviews, LLM discovery, and applying E-E-A-T principles to support machine understanding.
- Strategic Roadmap Management: The ability to conduct technical and competitive audits and translate them into prioritized backlogs that align with client business goals.
- Client Advisory: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex search concepts to stakeholders ranging from developers to C-suite executives.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in enterprise or regulated industries.
- Exposure to CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) or performance marketing disciplines.
- A background in collaborating directly with product teams on large-scale migrations.
Who are you?
- The Confident Advisor: You are a trusted partner to your clients. You don't just deliver data; you provide clear, solution-oriented recommendations that drive their business forward.
- The Ambiguity Navigator: You thrive in the "grey area" of evolving search landscapes. When Google updates its algorithms or AI features, you are the first to proactively advise on risks and opportunities.
- The Authoritative Collaborator: You are firm when advocating for SEO best practices during engineering builds, yet you are a collaborative partner who finds ways to balance search needs with UX and design.
- The Analytical Expert: You are literate to the degree that you can discuss technical impacts comfortably with both devs and clients, ensuring no one is "meek" when it comes to site performance.
What does the hiring process look like?
- Screening Interview. This initial discussion with HR covers your background and salary expectations, while specifically assessing your communication style and self-discipline for an environment like ours.
- Hiring Manager Interview. This step digs into the core capabilities of the role to ensure you have the required experience, and may include specific technical questions depending on the position.
- Skills Challenge. This is a practical assessment designed to take about one hour to demonstrate specific skills that your resume or portfolio may not fully illustrate.
- Team & Values Interview. You will meet with potential cross-functional colleagues to assess your collaborative style and ensure you align with the team's values.
- Background & Reference Checks. We verify employment history and performance with your provided references after a successful final interview, as well as a Criminal Background Check and Global Sanctions Check.
