Ciena is seeking a highly skilled and innovative software developer to lead the evolution of our test automation frameworks and drive AI/ML integration across our testing ecosystem. This role involves not just technical excellence but also fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

You will contribute to creating best-in-class solutions that align with organizational goals, mentoring team members, and delivering measurable impacts to operational efficiency through emerging AI/ML technologies.

How You Will Contribute:

- Optimize Test Automation Frameworks: Lead the transformation of existing test automation frameworks to improve accuracy, execution speed, and maintainability.

- Integrate AI/ML Solutions: Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI/ML-driven tools to enhance script execution, failure analysis, defect prediction, and overall testing effectiveness.

- Monitor and Report Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure framework improvements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Stay Updated on Trends: Keep pace with emerging technologies in AI and automation, introducing innovative practices to the team.

- Team Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to foster an environment of learning and technical excellence.

- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for software issues related to the test automation framework and integrated AI/ML solutions.

- Collaborate Effectively: Clearly communicate technical ideas and solutions to diverse teams across the organization.

The Must Haves:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems/Technology.

- Expertise in AI/ML technologies and their applications to test automation.

- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.

- Strong proficiency in Python programming.

- Solid understanding of data communications, including packet/IP networks.

- Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement initiatives.

- Exceptional attention to detail and task prioritization skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.

- Proficiency in bug tracking with Jira and version control using Git.

- Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems.

- Proven problem-solving abilities, with the ability to independently drive complex initiatives.

- Motivated self-starter with strong time management skills.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this role is $81, 500 - $130, 300 CDN

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
