Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks, infrastructure, and tooling for backend and web applications. Lead generative AI and synthetic data testing strategies, migrate legacy frameworks to self-healing AI-driven systems, prototype agentic tooling, mentor junior SDETs, and collaborate with platform and product teams to improve testability and system reliability.
We are looking for a SDET based in Latin America to work on a long-term project for one of our clients, one of the 100 fastest-growing tech companies in North America.

The person in this role will help architect, design, and build automation and integration tests to support backend services and infrastructure engineering quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Own technical components of test frameworks, test infrastructure and test tooling.
- Design, create, maintain, and optimize test automation frameworks for web applications.
- Develop and lead synthetic data and generative AI strategies to enhance testing capabilities and efficiency.
- Design and implement architectural roadmaps to transition legacy test frameworks into self-healing, AI-driven ecosystems.
- Evaluate, prototype, and implement agentic tooling to enhance automation capabilities, testing infrastructure, and system reliability.
- Manage technical communications and provide mentorship to junior SDETs and engineering team members.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, architecture, and product teams to deliver scalable and reliable testing solutions.
- Drive improvements in product testability by contributing feedback on system architecture, application workflows, and engineering design decisions.
- Research emerging test tools, frameworks, methodologies, and industry trends, and evolve existing practices to align with the changing technology landscape.
Requirements
- Advanced Level of English
- 5+ years of proven experience in SDET roles.
- 4+ years of experience using Playwright or Cypress.
- 4+ years of experience coding with JavaScript and/or TypeScript (preferred).
- 4+ years of experience building test automation solutions for SaaS and/or B2B internet-based applications.
- 3+ years of experience developing test automation frameworks using Node.js, NPM, and related technologies.
- Experience building infrastructure-as-code automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and similar technologies.
- Strong experience debugging complex issues across distributed systems, services, and application layers.
- Strong technical foundation with experience evaluating new technologies and contributing to architectural decisions that improve application quality, infrastructure, and team productivity.
- Experience testing web applications hosted on AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum and other Agile development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and collaboration skills, with experience partnering with developers on troubleshooting, peer reviews, and quality initiatives.
