WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Core Messaging team focuses on enhancing the performance and reliability of Braze's most frequently used messaging channels. Our engineers are responsible for several high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems. We work closely with both internal and external teams to maintain Braze's industry leadership in cost-effective scaling, competitive go-to-market timelines, and overall system uptime. We create innovative features that enable customers to effectively communicate their marketing goals around speed, accuracy and reliability and translate them into technical solutions.
As a Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining critical components of Braze's high-scale infrastructure. You'll take ownership of impactful features and drive them from concept to production. By working closely with a skilled, remote-friendly team, you’ll gain a deep understanding of our business, product, and technology, which will enable you to deliver high-quality solutions quickly. Your insights and ideas for improving our product, processes, and technology will be essential to our success.
WHO YOU ARE
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer with a strong track record of success
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment. Excellent communicator with your peers, teammates, stakeholders and managers
- Ability to work through project unknowns and ambiguity, leading the charge to bring clarity without sacrificing code quality
- Excited to own one or more large areas of our technology architecture by understanding motivations, taking initiative and proposing improvements
- Familiar with scaling technical concepts such as database load, caching strategies and performance optimizations
- Interest working with distributed architecture paradigms such as async processing, job queues and eventual consistency
