What do we need
Dotmatics is seeking a Full Stack Engineer with an understanding of both Node.js and React to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing software solutions that meet our company's needs. Working on groundbreaking Scientific Software products such as LUMA you will bring an understanding of Node.js, React, and the latest software development practices to the team, in this role you will have the opportunity to collaborate with wider teams on best practices alongside other developers.
This position will be required to work CAN Eastern time zone hours
In this role you will get to
- Collaborate with the software development team in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions using Node.js and React.
- Contribute to the development of software architecture and design principles for the organization.
- Ensure the scalability, maintainability, and security of software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews.
We are looking for people who have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent working experience and 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Node.js and React, and can demonstrate experience in
- Node.js and frameworks, such as Express.
- React and React patterns/concepts.
- Automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Databases (Postgres)
- High-level web application design
- Scaling applications to process large volumes of data and events
- RESTful APIs.
- AWS and various components inside of AWS.
- Containerization (Docker, AWS ECS/EKS).
- CI/CD tools, such as Github Actions, and CodePipeline.
- Agile software development methodologies and practices.
You may also have experience in
- Typescript
- Deployment technologies like Terraform
- Windows desktop applications OR scalable distributed systems
- Object-Oriented languages (e.g. C#)
- Life science research experience
