We are seeking a seasoned and hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead our AR Automation Platform team. The high- impact leadership role is responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems, with a primary focus on people management and team development.
You will manage an agile squad, focusing on coaching, mentoring, and growing engineering talent. Your leadership will be critical in shaping the team’s culture, driving performance, and ensuring engineering excellence. You will foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable environment that supports innovation and professional growth.
What you'll do:
- Lead and Inspire: Manage, mentor, and develop multiple engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- People Development: Conduct regular 1:1s, provide feedback, support career growth, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Performance Management: Set clear goals, evaluate performance, and guide team members through growth plans and reviews.
- Hands-On Leadership: Participate in architecture design, sprint planning, code reviews, and technical specifications as needed.
- Delivery Ownership: Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software releases across squads.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Technical Leadership, Product, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to align priorities and deliver business value.
- Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and performance optimization.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term platform strategy, roadmap planning, and resource allocation.
- Culture Building: Foster an environment of trust, inclusion, and accountability.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in backend systems, distributed architecture, and cloud-native development (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Hands-On Skills: Comfortable diving into code, architecture, and technical discussions.
- Agile Mindset: Proven experience leading agile teams with frequent release cycles.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with AR, FinTech, or enterprise automation platforms.
- React, Ruby on Rails or Node.js experience.
- Familiarity with service-oriented, event-driven architecture, and data pipelines.
- Prior experience scaling an engineering team in a fast-paced environment.
- AI experience and adoption of AI as a productivity tool.
