Job Description

Who You’ll Work With

Arista Networks is looking for world-class Software Test Engineers to help us build our next-generation network management system. The role requires a broad knowledge of computer network design, configuration, and monitoring in various environments (e.g. data-center, enterprise, and service provider). You will be part of a design and test team that works on the latest technologies in state streaming, big data, and advanced analytics. The goal is to help network operation teams effectively manage their large networks that deviate away from their antiquated, time-consuming approaches. Our solution will instead help our customers overcome many of their challenges through our provisioning and telemetric solutions, for both on-premise and cloud solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Designing and executing system-level test cases for our next-generation management system. This will involve both scale and performance-related test cases to observe how components within our system behave in the most strenuous environments.

  • Working alongside the development team to help root-cause any issues found. This will involve running many experiments to prove/disprove any current theories, often involving automation tools to assist you with your task.

  • Writing up detailed bug reports that include a complete characterization of the system at time of failure, while describing the impact that it can have on our customers.

  • Working with our Technical Support team to help reproduce, debug, and resolve any issues reported by our customers.

  • Strong passion for beautiful and intuitive user-interfaces (GUIs and APIs) that create a pleasurable user-experience (UX) for our customers.

Qualifications

  • A BSCS/CE/EE plus 3+ years of experience or MS degree in telecommunications, computer networking, or related field.

  • Experience in designing, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting IP and Ethernet networks.

  • Experience in 3 or more of the following networking protocols and technologies (e.g. BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VRRP, LACP, STP, IP Multicast, ECMP, Port-Mirroring, QoS, VXLAN, MPLS, EVPN, etc)

  • Experience with Linux operating system and its popular technologies (e.g. KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, Hbase)

  • Some familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.

  • Experience with provisioning and deployment frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef) a plus.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • CCIE certification a plus.

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $95,000 to $145,000.
