POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking to add a Senior Engagement Strategist to our team who will be responsible for leading the multi-channel and communications planning on key accounts to help build brand experiences, connected across the user and customer journey. You will partner with senior team members to translate communication plans into actionable tactics. You will work in a continuous effort to develop a strategic skill set to uncover the most compelling opportunities in which to differentiate a brand in a compelling perspective, constantly pushing to make Famously Effective work. You will be directly supporting multiple clients and expected to manage multiple (at least three) work streams at a time.
As a member of our Toronto studio, you will join a dynamic, globally-minded team surrounded by some of the brightest minds in their fields and get to work in one of the newest WPP campuses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an immersive understanding of your brand’s market dynamics, customer mindset, competitive environment, brand goals, and industry trends to deliver engagement opportunities that will inspire creative teams and develop a meaning marketing impact for our clients
- Refine strategist-written briefs and capable to write their own engagement briefs with little intervention
- Develop strategic deliverables that include but are not limited to content development across digital platforms, executing brand activations, omnichannel understanding, creative brief development, workshop involvement, and helping drive US and Global brand plans
- Uncover key communication and platform opportunities, which change the audience experience, their brand perceptions and influence behavior to create a competitive advantage
- Understand deeply and identify insights, partnering with Data Strategy, to lead with a point of view for team discussion
- Own development of all from start to finish, including facilitating inputs from other departments (e.g. creative) as needed
- Work cross-functionally within the agency to ensure the successful and innovative execution of approved strategies
- Provide thinking that is unique to the brand situation and write with clarity and instruction
- Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert within the agency, with clients, and within the industry at large
- Constantly identify new technologies, trends and engagement opportunities to drive agency and client success
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in developing strategic initiatives, tactical plans, marketing ecosystems, social campaigns, ideally in a creative, media agency and/or small start-up, digital publisher
- Bring consumer, DTC, HCP and/or OTC-focused experience
- Strong digital and social knowledge – content marketing experience a plus
- Possess a balance of business acumen with creative and technical knowledge
- Customer-first mindset with a strong focus on the technology-enabled user
- Established background in digital and omnichannel (web, social, email/CRM, banner)
- Comfortable defining strategies and executing plans against customer experience journeys
- Proactive, with excellent collaboration capabilities and an ability to identify opportunities across brands, campaigns, and markets.
- Adept at driving cross-functional teams while managing complex stakeholder relationships (agency + client)
- Ability to engage, influence, and inspire stakeholders (agency + client) to drive collaboration and alignment
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
- Demonstrable experience driving growth and KPIs in domestic and global markets
- Excellent attention to detail, sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative and innovative thinker
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in pharma, healthcare and wellness, is an asset
