*This is a 14 month contract position.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Director, HR Business Partner leading our people and culture priorities for multiple distribution centers in Western Canada. You will design and execute strategic initiatives that nurture our business objectives for the region.

You will identify Human Resources and organizational development opportunities, and design, develop, and deliver solutions that meet the business’ needs in the areas of labour relations, employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and performance management. You’re analytically driven and always leverage data driven insights to measure your results against our objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in global organizations. You are energized by strategic design and producing a high output of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead strategic HR priorities for the region. Align HR strategies to effectively link to business priorities, maximize talent, minimize risk, and optimize business performance.

  • Act as a strategic partner that provides leaders with support on a variety of business-related topics, and addressing and overcoming challenges related to organizational design, reorganizations, complex employee relations, and change management.

  • Build effective partnerships and relationships with leaders and employees to solve complex HR challenges.

  • Coach leaders in change management strategies for major initiatives. Act as a change agent to maximize results while minimizing negative impact on our employee experience.

  • Lead and manage all human resources activities to ensure the right people are in place and prepared to meet the challenges of the business.

  • Lead succession planning and leadership development. Assist leaders in designing development opportunities for their team.

  • Leverage data driven insights to provide analysis and recommendations to address people and culture gaps.

  • Maintain expert working knowledge of environmental factors influencing the business (i.e., HR legislation, best practices trends, etc.

  • Lead some HR projects within your regional or a more national scale

Preferred skills

  • Natural fit with McKesson's I2CARE & ILEAD Shared Principles

  • Degree or diploma in business management or Human Resources

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant HR professional experience, ideally in a supply chain, logistics industry or manufacturing environment

  • Business acumen with enterprise mindset. Preferred global experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong relationship building and change management capabilities.

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, project management, communication, problem solving, and influence skills.

  • A demonstrated ability to form excellent working relationships with the business and within HR.

  • Collaborative, experienced with supporting stakeholders and team members in a matrixed environment. 

  • Additional key competencies include collaboration; composure; execution and follow-thru.

This role is based in Edmonton, and is a hybrid position where the employee will work two days per week at one of our Edmonton DCs, visit the Vancouver DC monthly, and travel to Winnipeg at least twice during the contract period.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$90,700 - $151,100
