We are looking for a diligent and reliable Paralegal to join our team!

This position will provide a range of complex paralegal support and legal administrative support to Associate General Counsel, Regulatory Counsel and Regulatory Applications personnel for LP and GTM Canada in all aspects of the regulatory process including preparation of regulatory applications and filings.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in drafting of applications, evidence and information requests/interrogatories as required.

• Conduct legal research for precedents of case law; legislation and regulations; and regulatory decisions, rulings and processes.

• Review pleadings, correspondence, and other materials filed in a regulatory proceeding.

• Prepare summaries as required for use by witnesses and others.

• Create and maintain a database of information requests, information request responses, and evidence.

• Compile and coordinate all components of applications and all subsequent documents into templates.

• Distribute and coordinate draft documents amongst the project teams for review and revision.

• Draft correspondence and Affidavits of Service.

• File electronically and coordinate physical filing with the CER, AER, BCER, BCUC and other regulatory agencies all regulatory applications and documents.

• Keep track of impending deadlines for the various steps of applications as required by the CER, AER, BCER, BCUC FERC and other regulators to ensure they are met.

• Coordinate and prepare hearing schedules, materials, logistics; maintain exhibit binders/electronic materials, transcripts and other related materials.

• Liaise with internal and external project contacts, external counsel, regulators and senior management, as well as address and/or redirect concerns.

• Assist in developing and creating witness preparation binders and arrange witness panel training, including arranging for meeting venues and catering.
• Coordinate, file and manage process for litigation.

Who You Are:

• Paralegal Diploma or Law Degree or relevant experience.

• 2-4 years’ experience as a paralegal with a law firm or large company (or equivalent experience).

• Exceptional interpersonal, organization, communication (written and oral) and people skills are required.

• Strong computer skills required (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and ability to quickly learn internal information management systems (Oracle, Encompass).

• Highly motivated and positive attitude.
