Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the RoleBase is looking for an organized, accountable, high-ownership, and detail-oriented individual to join the Supply Chain team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of key portions of our Bill of Materials - managing components from inception through delivery to support the ramp of our battery production lines.
What You'll Do
Source components: alongside Global Supply Managers, source components inclusive of electronics, PCBAs, structural metallic components, and assemblies at various suppliers for production. Lead efforts on dual and re-sourcing as needed during production.
Build and manage planning systems: lead in the development, implementation, and utilization of various tools, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Define the way that these tools are utilized for future hires.
Own delivery of parts: be sole owner of delivery of hardware components to the manufacturing line. Troubleshoot with vendors, including on-site travel to manufacturers worldwide as needed.
Plan supply of components: develop forecasts of demand and build a supply plan alongside the company’s Sales & Operations Planning model for all parts within your ownership.
What You'll Bring
Prior experience in developing the supply chain of a complex assembly in a high volume manufacturing environment.
Prior experience using ERP and MRP tools to plan and execute on procurement of components to support a live production line.
Prior experience as the primary interface between a company and its suppliers.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Odoo ERP.
SQL and related basic data manipulation skills.
Experience with electro-mechanical assemblies with a mixture of off the shelf and custom manufactured components, inclusive of those built by large contract manufacturers.
First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
