BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Manages, coordinates, plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and executes a project or collection of projects. Ensures achievement of contractually based financial, schedule, and technical performance objectives.
BUSINESS AREA BACKGROUND:
This Program Manager position is with the Sensor & Electronics Solutions business unit, headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. BAE Systems has over 40 years of experience in designing and manufacturing Instrumentation Radar Systems, Electro-Optical Systems, Test Range Asset Modernizations and Upgrades. Our capabilities include design, fabrication and integration of hardware and software to support a wide variety of test range requirements including RF and Electro Optical (EO) TSPI Instrumentation, Threat Simulators, CW Doppler and EO Behavioral Systems, Drop and No-Drop Bomb Scoring Systems, Telemetry Systems and Flight Termination Systems.
The technologies and resources of BAE Systems is dedicated to designing, manufacturing, integrating, and sustaining products required for current test ranges and programs envisioned for future test ranges, aviation test facilities and launch facilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties and responsibilities which occupy a major portion of time and importance in the job.)
Manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute a project or collection of projects. Ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives. Participate in the support of new business and in the development of financial plans for the company. Model and demonstrate strong leadership in ethics, safety and security. Direct people-management responsibility is required.
Attend conferences and meetings to represent assigned activity. Developing working group meeting agendas, preparing and consolidating briefing materials, meeting minutes, and answers to action items assigned by other agencies or organizations
Conduct research in areas which require a high level of expertise and knowledge in areas of specialization and some related fields. Maintaining knowledge in area of specialization and awareness of developments in the remaining related fields, including extensive contributions to proposal efforts when requested by management
Evaluate plans and criteria for technical activities and recommending alternatives as required to comply with customer and company obligations.
Direct project activities or segments of major projects responsible for achievement of schedule, cost, and technical performance objectives. Prepare project execution plans and identify technical and business resources needed.
Review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team.
Perform other duties as required.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor level or higher degree with 12 years related experience and very strong technical and business background
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative and an ability to organize assigned daily tasks and the tasks of subordinates with no supervision
Possess strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience
Knowledge of and experience with project execution through a phased process (Life Cycle Management) and the reviews and metrics associated with assessing progress throughout that cycle.
Strong programmatic skills in Critical Path Scheduling and Earned Value Management
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, with high level of Excel and MS Project experience
Experience with DoD contracts and project management
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills and Education:
Experience with Range Instrumentation products and/or customers
PMP Certification
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
DoD, Pentagon or AF Major Command experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
