We are looking to add a Senior Engineer to lead the assigned Core pipeline projects. The incumbent will oversee the design for projects executed by third party engineering firms to ensure they are compliant with Company and Industry standards and specifications and managed to the project scope, budget and schedule. It also involves collaborating closely with other Enbridge internal functional groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables. What You Will Do:

  • Take ownership for and oversee the engineering project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned projects from project development through closeout.

  • Ensure that all assigned projects are designed fit for purpose and in accordance with all regulations, environmental, health and safety, applicable industry codes and corporate standards.

  • Manage, review and approve the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm e.g. drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets against the project budget and schedule.

  • Review vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bids and recommend to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.

  • Lead and/or support business initiatives e.g. cost saving opportunities in line with business justification for projects.

  • Provide technical guidance to others on the team based upon technical expertise and recommend opportunities for improvement via lessons learnt, technical standard change requests, worktype specific engineering management plans, contractor evaluations, etc.

 

Who You Are:

Required:

  • Engineering degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.

  • For Canadian applicants: APEGA P.Eng Professional Engineer designation.

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change.

  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly.

  • Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge.

  • Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team.

  • Effectively communicate technical and project issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff.

 

Preferred:

  • For USA applicants P.E. Professional Engineer designation.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline oriented, highly visible and numerous activities are conducted concurrently.

  • Overnight business trips to the field may be required 10% of the time, usually requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to work in tight spaces.

 

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

 

For US only:

Salary ranges from $100,000 - $140,000 based on experience and skills

  • The plan is fully paid for by Enbridge, with no employee contributions

  • Pay credits are between 4% and 11% of eligible earnings, based on age and service
