We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for key month-end accounting close activities, including booking journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting flux analyses. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in revenue accounting, possesses deep analytical and critical thinking skills, and has a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
About the Team:
Our Revenue Accounting Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of Zoom’s revenue reporting. We manage the end-to-end revenue close process, oversee key reserves, and handle cash application activities. The team also partners closely with auditors by facilitating all revenue-related requests and supports initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Execute month-end and quarter-end close activities, including booking journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
Perform account reconciliations and flux analysis, identifying and explaining variances.
Manage accounts receivable reserves, including the allowance for doubtful accounts and sales return reserves.
Review significant credit memo and refund activity to ensure correct accounting treatment and compliance with company policies.
Review professional and managed services invoicing to ensure correct revenue recognition.
Continuously evaluate and improve revenue accounting close processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Billing Support, Accounts Receivable, Order Management, Data Science, and IT teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
5+ years of combined experience in public accounting and/or a corporate revenue accounting role (SaaS experience preferred).
Understanding of the Order-to-Cash cycle (e.g. quoting, subscription management, invoicing and revenue recognition) and related risks and controls.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP with a focus on ASC 606.
Experience with enterprise applications such as SalesForce, Zuora, and Oracle.
Experience working with large data sets using advanced Excel and/or SQL skills to identify trends, highlight issues and explain reasons for account fluxes.
Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls testing.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$76,800.00Maximum:
$186,200.00In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
