Fueling Your Passion

As a Sr. Sales & Commercial Manager – Upstream, you will be responsible for driving sales execution and commercial strategy across a defined region or large territory. You will lead complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders, combining technical understanding, commercial expertise, and customer insight to deliver value‑based solutions. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to manage sophisticated commercial engagements in the Upstream Oil & Gas environment.

As a Sr. Sales & Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Selling products, services, parts, solutions, and projects within an assigned geographic area or large territory.
  • Managing products and systems that require strong technical knowledge and understanding of customer operating environments.
  • Leading complex, multi‑stakeholder sales processes involving technical, commercial, logistical, and financial considerations.
  • Developing and executing tailored sales strategies adapted to customer conditions and market requirements.
  • Managing proposals that include technical analysis, commercial structuring, pricing, and risk evaluation.
  • Handling a diverse customer base across the region, supporting medium‑sized sales opportunities.
  • Serving as the primary commercial interface for key customer accounts within the territory.
  • Partnering with internal teams including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product Management to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Driving pipeline growth, opportunity qualification, and deal closure while ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes commercial policies.
  • Providing accurate sales forecasts, market intelligence, and customer insights to support business planning.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Sales within the Oil & Gas industry, with a strong focus on Upstream markets.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of upstream products, services, and operational environments.
  • Be capable of managing complex commercial discussions and negotiations with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Operate effectively within a global, matrix organization.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Regional or Segment Sales Leader – Upstream, depending on organizational structure.
