Work Arrangement
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) or Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) three times per week, at minimum.
Introduction
We are at the forefront of transforming future transportation with Automated Driving and Autonomous Vehicles. Our team is dedicated to ensuring sensor integrity and fault mitigation for current and future ADAS solutions. If you are interested in playing a key role in the integration of modern sensor technologies-such as RADAR, Ultrasonics, and LIDAR-into our latest generation of vehicles, this position may be a great fit for you.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the physics and mechanics of various sensor hardware, as well as experience with driver and software integration issues. You should be comfortable collaborating with both hardware and software engineering teams to drive successful outcomes.
Core Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of systems development activities related to the applicable system with a strong focus on diagnostics
  • Ensure outsourced engineering is compliant with government regulations, such as OBD II, system safety and GM best practices
  • Provide diagnostic oversight and act as primary point of contact for concerns and questions related to an outsourced system/component(s)
  • System Technical Specification development along with FMEA analysis will be fundamental aspects of the position
  • Lead peer reviews to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Communicates information to both internal and external customers


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ year of experience in requirements development, software development, integration, verification or testing, or implementing ISO 26262 and ASIL standards.
  • Experience with vehicle grade integration of sensor such as RADAR, Ultrasonics and LIDAR
  • Exposure to integrity-based diagnostic design principles, FMEA and systems thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Expertise in C++ and Python
  • Exposure to CI/CD development methodologies
  • Strong understanding of sensor technology and its applications in the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) including Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), Data Identifiers (DID), and Routine Identifiers (RID).
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations
