ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Staff Cloud System Engineer will be expected to own and support the Corporate IT services which enable all lines of business within Apex Fintech Solutions. They will architect and engineer scalable, reliable and secure cloud-based solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders. 

  

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Provides technical direction to the team and collaborates closely with the Senior Technology leadership on planning and strategic decisions 

  • Solutions Development: Lead the development, support and quality assurance efforts for our enterprise technology services 

  • Foster a culture of growth and learning by leading technical discussions, experimenting with new technologies and mentoring junior engineers 

  • Creatively solve complex technical challenges with innovative, scalable and sustainable solutions which align with business goals 

  • Technical Documentation: Maintain relevant documentation and guides, ensuring they are up to date, accurate and easy to understand for both technologists and end-users

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Willingness to learn and drive innovation across a wide range of technologies 

  • Proficiency in communication and project management at all levels 

  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and tools  

  • Ability to positively influence, mentor and lead junior engineers 

 

 Education Requirements: 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field, or relevant experience 

  • Azure Engineer related and/or Administrator Certifications, or equivalent in AWS or Google 

  

Experience Requirements: 

  • At least 10 years of experience, with recent experience primarily focused on architecture and engineering of distributed systems  

  • Experience in Solution Architecture, including design, cost modeling, documentation, and implementation  

  • Demonstrable in-depth understanding of: Infrastructure architecture and design patterns, including core concepts such as compute, data, networking, and security; Cloud Platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud; Containerized Workloads and Kubernetes; Infrastructure as Code Concepts, Best Practices, and Tooling 

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with identity and access management technologies, such as Single Sign-on (SSO), Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), PIM & PAM 

  • Knowledge of security/authorization concepts and protocols of popular enterprise and SaaS applications (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) is essential 

  • Strong scripting language skills (e.g., Python), with the ability to maintain scripts, jobs, and automations 

  • Windows and Linux Administration experience in an enterprise environment 

  • Expert level knowledge in Azure IaaS and PaaS (e.g., Windows and Linux virtual machines, Networking, Azure Files) 

  • Experience administering and integrating enterprise products such as NetSuite/ERP solutions, BPM solutions, Salesforce, Workday, M365, Slack 

  

Work Environment: 

  • This job operates in a hybrid office environment, 3 office days per week, 2 remote.
