Staff Digital Design Engineer

Alphawave is developing advanced optical silicon with a growing engineering team. We are looking for a Staff Digital Design Engineer to join our Connectivity Products Group as a strong technical contributor and key member of the design team.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop industry leading connectivity SOCs using the latest high-speed IP
  • Be an expert in Alphawave SerDes and DSP cores, building unique solutions as a digital designer
  • Work with the architecture and marketing teams to develop implementation specifications
  • Support pre-silicon design verification and create reference documents
  • Support post-silicon validation and lab activities
  • Mentor the junior members of the team

What You'll Need:

  • BSc. or MSc. in Electrical/Computer engineering or a related field
  • Expertise in hardware description languages such as Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • >7 years of experience with RTL and strong digital design skills
  • Experience with silicon tapeouts and/or FPGA design implementation
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies used for digital design

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with power correlation between pre-silicon estimates and silicon measurements
  • Experience with SerDes
  • Familiarity with Ethernet and/or PCIe protocols
  • Familiarity with the CMIS standard
  • Familiarity with software version control such as SVN or Git
  • Knowledge of peripherals/protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI, APB, etc.
  • Knowledge of PCB schematic design and PCB layout
