We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the evolution of our platform and developer experience. You’ll own and advance our AWS & Kubernetes-based infrastructure, enable world-class CI/CD, and partner with software, security, and bioinformatics teams to ensure we scale with confidence and speed. This is a unique opportunity to build infrastructure that supports real clinical care in a collaborative engineering culture that is revolutionizing cancer care.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-native infrastructure on AWS leveraging EKS, S3, IAM and more.
  • Improve and scale CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and own infra observability using DataDog & Honeycomb.
  • Develop internal tooling and platform capabilities to accelerate engineering productivity.
  • Mentor and guide engineers to ensure application and infrastructure needs are tightly aligned.
  • Serve as technical lead for infrastructure projects and help shape long-term platform strategy.
  • Manage and tune our database infrastructure as application and business needs evolve.
  • Partner with security and compliance to meet HITRUST, SOC 2, and HIPAA standards.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, with 2+ years in a staff or lead role.
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes & EKS, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Strong experience with AWS services, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and databases.
  • Production experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
  • Solid foundation in Linux systems, container orchestration, and networking.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and on-call practices for high-availability systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset—able to align platform vision with engineering and business needs.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a regulated industry like healthcare or fintech.
  • Exposure to data infrastructure and pipelines (e.g., BigQuery, dbt, Airflow).
  • Experience with Nextflow, bioinformatics, or scientific computing environments.

What We Offer:

  • 💰  Competitive salary
  • ✨  Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits
  • 📈  401k match
  • 📝  Monthly phone and wifi stipend for employees, annual ergonomic stipend
  • 🏝  Generous vacation policy, paid holidays and company-wide recharge days
  • 🍼  Equal paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents
  • Free cancer screening and prevention resources for employees and their adult dependents

Location: This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in-office in Burlingame, and the other 2 days per week remote or in-office as needed.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: work experience, market data, skills, geographic location, and business need. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
