Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership.
Are you ready to shape the future of micro-mobility systems? As a Staff Systems Architect, you will play a critical role in delivering the next generation of Lime vehicles and accessories by driving system-level technical execution across hardware, software, and firmware.
This role is designed for a technical program leader with deep domain expertise in electromechanical systems and complex system integration. You will act as the technical conductor at the system level—aligning engineering disciplines, facilitating design trade-offs, and ensuring seamless execution from concept through launch. You will also be responsible for defining detailed engineering requirements (ERD).
You will collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams to make critical data-driven technical solutions, drive integration, and resolve competing priorities. Success in this role requires strong program leadership skills and strong technical judgment to ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards—this is your chance to make an impact.
What You’ll Do:
Drive technical alignment by facilitating architecture discussions, system design reviews, and trade-off decisions across cross-functional partners.
Own system integration strategy—ensuring subsystems (mechanical, electrical, firmware, software) align to deliver reliable, high-quality products.
Provide clarity on the technical program status for stakeholders, balancing technical depth with strategic insight.
Mentor engineers and program managers, providing guidance on technical execution and cross-disciplinary problem-solving.
Identify and mitigate systemic risks, navigating ambiguity to keep teams focused on program outcomes.
Champion continuous improvement in engineering processes, integration practices, and program execution frameworks.
Balance program priorities across cost, schedule, and quality while ensuring long-term technical scalability and innovation.
About You:
6+ years of engineering experience in complex system development in the consumer-facing technology industry, with at least 3 years leading large, complex engineering programs in a cross-functional environment.
Strong technical background with demonstrated expertise in electromechanical systems, electronics, power, and firmware/software integration.
Proven success in leading system-level technical execution for large-scale, cross-disciplinary engineering programs.
Proven ability to engage and influence technical direction, balancing details with system-level decision-making.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to executives, engineers, and external partners.
Track record of navigating ambiguity and competing priorities, driving programs to successful delivery.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in micro-mobility, automotive, robotics, or related electromechanical industries.
Recognized as a subject matter expert in at least one technical discipline, able to bridge multiple domains.
