Possible Placements/What you’ll do

Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to, but they may include:

HR Operations

• The student will assist employees and leaders by managing inquiries and handling HR system data. They will process key employee life cycle events such as hiring, retirements, resignations, and internal transfers. Maintaining accurate personnel records and supporting organizational changes will be essential responsibilities. This role provides valuable experience in HR administration, data management, and employee relations.

Social Investment

• The student will play a key role in organizing initiatives that enhance community engagement and social responsibility. They will support the Cenovus Cares giving and volunteering program through event planning, program coordination, and volunteer management. This role offers hands-on experience in communications, administration, and reporting. It’s a great opportunity to develop leadership skills while making a meaningful impact.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).

• Available to begin work in September 2025.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.

• Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.

• Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Business (specialization in HR is preferred), Communications or Public Relations Undergraduate Program, at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.

• Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.

• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
