The Opportunity:

The Supervisor role includes both the managerial and administrative functions; responsible for managing the workflow for the Investment Product Administrators, while also performing the same functions as the Administrators.  This position works closely with the rest of the Investments Management team to review and improve policies and procedures to provide better service. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director, Investment Operations.
A day in the life:

  • Full-cycle performance management of a small team including fostering a positive, collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring team members are following policies and procedures and service standards are being met, and regular performance reviews

  • Work closely with the management team in reviewing, identifying and implementing new and improved policies and procedures to provide better service to our advisors

  • Initiate, lead and run operational improvements to enhance internal processes and elevate Advisor experience

  • Ensure advisor inquiries are handled in a timely manner for both Mutual Funds and Segregated Funds

  • Act as the first point of contact for Investment Advisors

  • Verify all trades, identifying errors and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner

  • Handle all non-financial or manual transactions

  • Follow-up on business transactions, Not in Good Order notices (NIGO), account updates, account openings, and follow up on T2033 Transfers and loans when required

  • As needed, process incoming mutual and segregated fund trades. This includes new account opening, non-financial trades.

  • Other clerical duties as may be assigned

Who you are:

  • A strong people leader and team player with a positive attitude and the ability to inspire and convince others.

  • Post-Secondary education and/or commensurate work experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience of working with the mutual fund companies/investment industry

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience in working with Fundserv or other back-office systems is an asset

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong multi-tasking skills and exceptional ability to align the employees with the vision and mission of the company.

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.

HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
