Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent education with 10+ years of experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant
- Certified Information System Auditor
- Experience in Controls specifically IT General Controls and SAP GRC rulesets
Responsibilities:
- Support all business areas on the design, documentation, approval process and implementation of cost-effective, adequate, and effective internal controls compatible with controls systems, Policies & Standards, and Suncor reporting requirements.
- Support Suncor’s Management Controls Framework compliance including completion of risk assessment, advise on control design based on identified risks and self-assessment activities to monitor adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Develop and maintain relevant templates for Controls Framework compliance.
- Assist in the coordination of MOC reviews to ensure all related stakeholders and relevant controls dependencies are considered for control impact review.
- Maintain a centralized document repository (log) of Controls registers, review cycles, and self-assessment schedule.
- Prepare and provide required Controls Training and Controls Compliance Awareness material to embedded business controls representatives. Promote consistency in best practice sharing, continuous controls improvements.
- Work with deficiency owners to provide recommendations on incident closures, corrective actions or any gap closure/remediation activities and ensure proper documentation is updated accordingly in a centralized controls register and ready for Business Controls Approval.
- Coordinate review cycles of Control Registers with Business and controls adequacy self-assessments.
- Prepare Controls Performance Indicators reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis and review with Business for oversight.
- Liaise with internal and the external stakeholders as part of the overall ICFR requirements for Suncor.
- Participate in and support the business on risk assessments reviews, MOCs and Audit reviews.
Location and other Key Details:
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
