Job Description:

Tax Services is responsible for managing TDBG’s corporate tax matters including planning, compliance, reporting, strategy, governance and liaising with revenue authorities.

Reporting to Senior Manager, Canadian Tax Compliance and Reporting, this role is responsible for income tax compliance,  reporting and audits for certain Canadian entities of TDBG.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage income tax accounting, reporting and forecasting for certain Canadian entities as assigned.
  • Assist in shareholder disclosures and capital reporting/analysis.
  • Responsible for reviewing the current/future tax provision, effective tax rate analysis and tax journal entries for the assigned entities.
  • Manage all aspects of the tax compliance functions including income tax returns, tax installment payments and tax audits for the assigned entities.
  • Assist in tax planning and advisory initiatives.
  • Update the SOX and standard operating procedure documentations and ensure that the assigned entities/processes are SOX compliant.
  • Interact with Finance and business segments to improve income tax processes and  achieve efficiencies.
  • Support our business partners by providing useful and timely analyses to help grow their business.
  • Supervise and mentor staff.

Education/Accreditations/Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Professional Designation (CPA or MBA) with relevant accounting and or tax experience
  • Completion of the in-depth tax courses preferred
  • 5+ years of proven income tax experience including tax accounting and tax compliance preferred
  • Highly flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities/deadlines
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Able to clearly articulate messages both verbally and in writing, with excellent active listening skills
  • Strong people manager with ability to lead a team of professionals
  • The successful candidate must be organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and be able to work well independently and within a team

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line
