Job Description

As a Sr. Data Engineer in our Data Integration team, you will play a critical role in connecting our systems with various external vendors and ensuring seamless data flow across our internal products and data. You will leverage your expertise in data engineering to design, develop, and maintain robust data integration solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of our data ecosystem.

Work location and travel

This position is remote/hybrid. Our home office is located in Mississauga, ON. While there are no regular office days, there may be meetings you would be expected to attend in the office. 

How you will be contributing

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining robust data integration pipelines between our systems and external vendors using ETL tools and APIs.
  • Collaborating with internal product teams to ensure seamless integration and data consistency across all platforms.
  • Monitoring and optimizing data workflows to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implementing data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of integrated data.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data integration issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions.
  • Documenting data integration processes and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data integration and engineering to continuously improve our systems.

What we are hoping to find in your background

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on data integration.
  • Proficiency in ETL tools.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Javascript and Powershell, Python is a plus
  • Experience with API development and integration.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB).
  • AWS experience.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and business process integration.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms, or integration tools are a plus.
