OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dynamic, people-focused Team Manager, Group & Advisor Specialist to lead a high-performing team of Client Care Specialists. This role is critical to delivering exceptional service to group clients and advisor partners while supporting strategic initiatives across Alberta’s Small and Medium Business segment.

Reporting to the Manager, Group & Advisor Specialist, you will coach and develop a team that builds lasting relationships, supports group sales, and drives retention and growth through outstanding client care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Client Care Specialists through regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions.

  • Set clear performance targets, monitor results, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Organize and participate in team-building activities to strengthen collaboration, morale, and engagement.

Training, Onboarding & Mentorship

  • Design and deliver training sessions to enhance team skills and meet evolving business needs.

  • Provide structured onboarding and mentorship for new hires to ensure smooth integration.

  • Showcase tools, processes, and best practices to support learning and adoption.

Group Experience & Advisor Service Excellence

  • Champion a client-first mindset, ensuring responsive, proactive, and personalized service to advisors and plan administrators.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex client inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.

  • Oversee onboarding and policy revision processes to ensure smooth implementation and client satisfaction.

Collaboration & Strategic Alignment

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align service delivery with organizational goals and ensure seamless customer experiences.

  • Support strategic initiatives and act as a subject matter expert (SME) in user testing and projects.

  • Present to internal and external leadership as required.

Change Management & Agility

  • Champion change initiatives and implement lean or agile practices to adapt to evolving business needs.

  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a client service, sales support, or advisor-focused environment.

  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.

  • Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams with a focus on service excellence and relationship management.

  • Strong understanding of group benefits, advisor channels, and the dynamics of the small and medium business market.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience managing performance metrics, service standards, and operational workflows.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and comfort with digital collaboration tools.

  • Ability to travel within Alberta as needed.
