OVERVIEW:

We have an exciting opportunity as we grow the OCM practice at Alberta Blue Cross®. We are seeking an experienced people-focused leader with senior OCM expertise in leading large-scale complex organizational and technology change initiatives.  As the Team Manager, you will lead and coach a team of change managers, ensuring the delivery of high- quality, strategic change management plans. These plans will be informed by Prosci® methodology and the ACMP® Standard and aligned with the organization’s transformation objectives.

You will value and elevate your team’s capabilities and contributions to organizational success. You will bring proven expertise in organizational change management—not just project management or communications—and have a track record of applying structured methodologies to deliver measurable adoption outcomes.

This is a hybrid role and  you will be required to travel periodically to either the Edmonton and or Calgary office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Leadership

  • Be a strong, values-based leader who is committed to creating an open work environment where team members feel supported, equipped and trusted.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development opportunities to strengthen OCM competencies among team members. Ensure continuous learning through feedback, learning opportunities and promotion of OCM best practices.

  • Work with the Organizational Change Management leadership team to further develop OCM practice standards for the centralized OCM team.

  • Monitor and oversee change initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Monitor OCM team members’ work to ensure quality and consistent application of change management methodologies.

  • Collaborate closely with other leaders within the Learning & Organizational Development department and across the organization in Information Technology, the Enterprise Project Management Office and Communications.

Organizational Change Management

  • Assess the scope of change for requests and determine the OCM resources required to deliver effective change management.

  • Estimate business team member effort and advise sponsors on the resources required to benefit from expected change outcomes.

  • Provide expert guidance and support on all aspects of organizational change management to team members.

  • Offer strategic advice to sponsors and project leaders on people-related change risks.

  • Develop or guide the development of strategic change management plans—often spanning multiple projects or workstreams—based on guidance and direction from executive sponsors and senior leaders, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and enterprise-wide change strategy.

  • Support leaders through changes that affect their team members, providing information, tools and resources to increase their change leadership competency.

  • Develop change capability resources and learning materials for the organization.

  • Define success metrics and evaluation criteria to measure and monitor the effectiveness of change initiatives, identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Generate reports and insights to demonstrate the value of change management efforts and support informed decision-making.

  • Monitor risks, interdependencies and change saturation across the organization to optimize change success.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

Education

  • Post-secondary education in a preferred field such as Business, Communications, Organizational Development, Psychology or Behavioural Science, Adult Education or Human Resources.

  • CCMP® certification (completed or in progress).

  • Prosci® certification.

Experience

  • 8-10 years in an Organizational Change Management role with progressive experience leading large-scale complex organizational and technology change initiatives.

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing professional teams.

Personal attributes

  • Acute business acumen and understanding of systems implementations, organizational issues and the challenges presented by change.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and build alignment across all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinking and strong organizational skills to effectively plan and execute change initiatives.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities; able to adapt with flexibility and resilience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes, prioritize effectively and manage multiple demands.

This position will remain open until January 16, 2026.

Fortunately, Calgary stands out as a hub for both, recognized as one of Startup Genome's Top 100 Emerging Ecosystems, while also playing host to a number of multinational enterprises. In Calgary, job seekers can find a wide range of opportunities.
