About the role
Job Type: Full-time
We're looking for a junior, tech-savvy geoscientist with up to 3 years of experience. The Technical Analyst will join our team in our Calgary office to provide users with outstanding technical support and training for our products, including StarSteer. The ideal candidate should have a passion to provide technical demos and trainings for our clients. We are looking for a client-focused individual who works well in a fast-paced environment, and who has a technical background in the geosciences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical sales & workflow presentations to clients (online and in person)
- Onsite support and multi-day trainings with clients with some travel required
- Customer Technical Support (phone, email) including possible calls during evenings and weekends
- Supporting our sales team with engaging technical demonstrations
- Tracking of client’s bugs and new features requests
- Other tasks related to all above
Requirements:
- 4-year degree in Geoscience or a closely related discipline
- Intermediate to Advanced ability with StarSteer geosteering software is an asset
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations and operations geology workflows
- Geologic knowledge of a variety of North American plays and play types is an asset
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken; experience creating and delivering presentations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and Google Docs
Additional beneficial experience:
- Working knowledge of Python
- Experience with geoscience software (Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix, etc)
- Computer science and/or IT troubleshooting experience
- Customer service experience
