About Story

Story aims to grow the creativity of the internet. The internet has introduced revolutionary new methods of developing and distributing creative work: endless remixing, participatory franchises, and AI generated content. However, our current intellectual property infrastructure works against the openness of the internet instead of embracing it. Story is building an IP infrastructure optimized for the internet era.

Story is the Programmable IP layer built for the age of AI. We transform IP into networks that transcend mediums and platforms, unlocking global creativity and liquidity.

Our team features deep expertise in media, tech, and business. Founding team members are successful serial entrepreneurs. We are a Series B company with $140 million in funding, led by a16z and other top-tier investors.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex engineering projects, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of technology and engineering process. You will be working with top-notch engineers and in a fast-paced, vibrant startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Work Streams: Oversee and coordinate activities across the entire technical stack, ensuring all engineering teams are aligned and working efficiently towards common goals. Understand technical challenges and escalate blockers effectively to maintain project momentum.
  • Facilitate Communication and Reporting: Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams to ensure clear and effective communication within the organization. Provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership on project progress, risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Manage Issues, Tasks, and Milestones: Track and manage project tasks, issues, and milestones meticulously. Ensure the timely delivery of engineering projects and programs by identifying potential roadblocks early and proactively finding solutions.
  • Documentation and Education: Maintain a comprehensive internal knowledge base, organize educational sessions, and prepare internal documents to support team learning and development. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to all team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role in a technology-driven environment.
  • Excellent project management skills, with experience using tools like Github, Jira, Notion, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fast learner; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem is a huge plus.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Understanding of Intellectual Property, NFT, AI applications.
  • Previous experience in software development or engineering roles.

Dive into a stimulating work environment in the Bay Area with a team of highly skilled professionals. We thrive on collaboration and innovation, balancing hard work with a fun, supportive atmosphere.
