We have an exciting opportunity to join us here at Covéa Insurance as a Technical Support Engineer, within our Technical Support Team! 

Our Technical Support Team delivers reliable 1st and 2nd line support across all locations, ensuring colleagues have the tools and systems they need to work effectively. We focus on fast, friendly, high‑quality service and work collaboratively to resolve issues, improve processes, and keep the business running smoothly.

This role is based on site at our Halifax office. We believe that working together in person fosters stronger collaboration, deeper engagement, and supports your professional growth!

What does a day-to-day look like? 

  • Deliver high‑quality technical support to colleagues and the wider business, ensuring strong service levels and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Complete regular technical and operational tasks assigned by Management, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly processes.
  • Support multi‑site users by providing full 2nd‑line coverage across all locations.
  • Manage and maintain desktops, laptops, applications, backups, overnight processes, scheduling, and other day‑to‑day operational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Support Team to deliver service initiatives and contribute to wider technical projects.
  • Provide occasional out‑of‑hours assistance and ad hoc telephony support during critical incidents.

  

Do you have what it takes? 

  • Proven 2nd line support experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with Windows 7, 10 and 11, Dell hardware, laptop/desktop diagnostics, OS and application installation, and support for Apple mobile devices.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure AD, Intune, user/group/device administration, Windows Autopilot, and application packaging/deployment via SCCM or Intune.
  • Familiarity with VMware or Citrix environments, on‑premise Active Directory administration, and backup technologies such as VEEAM.
  • Skilled in supporting Office 365 applications, Exchange Admin Centre, and in‑house business applications, while consistently meeting SLA targets.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or collaboratively on complex tasks; flexible to travel at short notice across all Covea locations, including occasional overnight stays; full driving licence required.
  • Educated to A‑Level standard (or equivalent), with ITIL Foundation and Microsoft/cloud certifications preferred
