We're hiring for a leadership role that combines team management, strategic planning, and process optimization across our Field Services division.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Reporting to the Director of Field Services, you will lead and optimize day-to-day field operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery of telecommunications fielding, engineering, design, and construction projects. Working closely with senior management, field teams, clients, and vendor partners, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and leading a high-performing the team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to enhance productivity and engagement
  • Developing and managing strategic KPIs that provide clarity and drive team performance towards operational excellence
  • Evaluating and enhancing operational processes for increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Overseeing resource allocation including personnel, equipment, and materials to meet operational demands and facilitate growth
  • Managing vehicle fleets, volume reporting, and budgetary oversight while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Leading the adoption and integration of new technologies to modernize field operations and participating in R&D projects
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their needs and implement service solutions that exceed expectations
  • Strengthening vendor relationships and cross-departmental collaboration to achieve organizational objectives

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12-18 months, you'll be:

  • Leading a high-performing Field Services team that consistently delivers on telecommunications fielding, engineering, design, and construction projects
  • Implementing and tracking strategic KPIs that drive team performance, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Optimizing operational processes and workflows through continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency without compromising quality
  • Building strong cross-functional relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and resource coordination
  • Successfully managing resource allocation, fleet operations, and budgetary oversight while identifying cost-saving opportunities and modernizing field operations through technology adoption

What We're Looking For

  • Leadership & People Management: Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams with formal management accountability; skilled in coaching, mentoring, direct feedback, conflict resolution, and performance management; deep understanding of team dynamics and demographic inferences; strong communicator across different personality types, disciplines, and locations; comfortable setting direction, holding accountability, and building trust
  • Delivery & Operations Mindset: Strong planning and prioritization skills across multiple projects and shifting deadlines; ability to build repeatable processes, establish KPIs, and create team routines that drive operational excellence; bias toward action with capability to identify problems early, remove blockers quickly, and make informed trade-off decisions; experience managing resources including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Technical Context & Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with telecom construction regulations and standards (aerial, underground, in-building) to enable project scope understanding; knowledge of digital automation, project management tools, and GIS-based field data collection tools; experience with budget management and vendor negotiation; ability to guide technical decision-making and ensure quality standards are met
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering (Civil), or related field considered an asset; Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) considered an asset; OR equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Work Experience: 2-5+ years proven experience in field operations roles with demonstrated ability to lead teams; experience in telecom fielding, engineering, design, and construction environments highly relevant; experience managing day-to-day operations and translating strategy into execution
  • Nice-to-Have: Experience with LEAN Six Sigma; familiarity with performance management systems and workforce planning tools; knowledge of utility safety standards and regulations; PMP or leadership certifications; experience working with Google Workspace or Microsoft apps; occasional travel capability
