Manage sales and operations across a territory of retail/fuel sites to ensure profitability, HSSE compliance, retailer coaching, performance management, recruitment support, and achievement of volume, cost, and customer experience targets.
The purpose of this role is to manage the sales and operations of a group of sites ensuring their overall profitability, be responsible for all negotiations and interface management with retailers, operators and other external stakeholders within the specified geographic area and support the strategy and implements it within managed sites.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To manage all relevant Health Safety Security & Environment (HSSE) processes within the Life Saving Rules & ensure compliance by all stakeholders.
- Coach & support Retailers to improve on-site operational excellence and customer perception on the quality of our products.
- Support the “People Make the Difference Real” rollout via visible leadership, coaching, reward and performance management of Retailers.
- Effectively use available tools (i.e. Navigator, TM Sales Report etc.) to manage performance.
- Implementation of the Dealer Owned Retail Value Preposition Bundle (as applicable).
- Contribute to recruitment and selection of the best Retailers (applicable only for Company Owned platform).
- Act as a supportive and participative team member of the Retail Team and wider Retail team and as role model for VE Core Values.
- Actively support Global Reward & Recognition Scheme for Retailers, as well as their use of reward and recognition for their own site staff.
- Meet Territory Total Fuels, Convenience Retail and Lubricants Volume targets.
- Meet Cost targets.
- Identification of personal competency gaps & training needs requirements
- Participation in TM development and accreditation process
- Participation in cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Preferably Degree in Sales or Marketing
- More than 5 years of experience in sales within a retailing business, in which you managed retailers to achieve volume and financial targets.
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of the Afrikaans language is an added advantage.
- Must be mature, assertive, outgoing, able to work independently & under pressure, and thrives on challenges.
- Understanding of the local business environment.
- Proven track record of execution excellence and delivering results
- Team player with high driven and ability to build long term relationships
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be prepared to travel extensively.
