The ideal candidate for this position will highly creative, tech-savvy and strongly focused on understanding how our users think, speak, feel and behave to identify language that is natural and useful. You recognize how content shapes platforms and how the words you choose is the difference between an empowered user and an abandonment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Create simple, accessible, approachable, modern, and conversational content that enables customers to self-serve and improve their understanding of the topic or task at hand. 
  • Combine your domain expertise with stakeholder interviews, business requirements, competitive research, user research and analytical data.
  • Effectively navigate complex systems and regulatory environments and distill the concepts to any audience.
  • Participate in design sprints and planning sessions to uncover the core concepts, customer language and top questions you need to support in the user experience.
  • Facilitate co-writing sessions and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compelling UX solutions.
  • Conduct content research to inform terminology, wayfinding, content density, structure and sequencing, and understand customer mental models.
  • Define the role of content in user journeys across rapidly evolving digital platforms.
  • Develop guides for new users that adhere to established help and documentation heuristics.
  • Identify opportunities for content additions, improvements and innovations based on feedback, and qualitative and quantitative analytics.
  • Perform functional and editorial quality assurance on all digital content.
  • Effectively pitch ideas to the team and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain design system content guides, taxonomies, pervasive architecture, metadata frameworks, content migration plans and content performance goals.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of UX writing standards that contribute to the digital experience practice and design system.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ working experience and progressive responsibilities writing for digital platforms.
  • A portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines.
  • Experience on user-focused product writing including work in hardware, software, digital agency or other relevant product area.
  • Experience in shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience leading large, complex content strategies for user experiences, from notifications to structuring content in the UI.
  • Experience creating word lists and style guidelines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to task switch while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly evolving environments, competing priorities and changing requirements.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn new things and desire to stay on top of industry trends, the competitive landscape and top news.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, UX, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe XD and Figma is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is considered an asset.
