The Vice President, Accounting & Finance is a senior leadership position responsible for managing the financial accounting and reporting functions of the organization. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the Company's objectives.

This role is for a maternity leave coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the Company’s finance and corporate accounting functions to maintain accurate and timely financial reporting records.
  • Responsible for the Company’s quarterly and annual financial and tax reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting and certifications.
  • Responsible for compilation of quarterly reporting packages for the Company’s Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the Financial Planning & Analysis function by collaborating with executive leadership to develop and manage the organization's budget, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, supporting strategic decision-making and long-term financial planning.
  • Ensure the Company’s cash requirements are met through effective treasury management as well as maintaining relationships with the Company’s lenders and capital markets.
  • Oversee the completion of the Company’s annual ESG report.
  • Effectively manage the Company’s global tax compliance and planning, including transfer pricing.
  • Oversee the Company’s risk management strategy including appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Oversee the semi-monthly payroll and quarterly commissions.
  • Collaborate with various departments on scalability projects to support continuous process improvements and enhance the Company’s KPIs.
  • Supervise, mentor, and lead the finance and accounting teams (25+ team members including 7 direct reports) by providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. CPA, CFA, MBA or relevant certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial leadership, ideally in a corporate or senior management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and international financial reporting standards.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Candidates for this role typically have 10 years or more of relevant experience, including several years in leadership roles, in a publicly traded company.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced work environment.
  • Manufacturing or SaaS experience considered an asset.
