About the Role
WildBrain is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Vice President, Marketing & Communications to provide leadership during a pivotal period of transformation for the company. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO and executive leadership team, this role will be responsible for shaping and delivering WildBrain’s corporate narrative.
This role will lead the global marketing and communications function with a strong emphasis on change management, executive communications, internal engagement, and employee value proposition (EVP), while ensuring WildBrain’s brand, story, and strategic priorities are communicated clearly and consistently to employees, partners, investors, and the broader industry.
The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on leader who thrives in complex environments, can quickly earn trust at the executive level, and is comfortable shifting between strategy, counsel, and execution.
Job DescriptionEnterprise Strategy, Change & Leadership Communications
- Lead WildBrain’s enterprise marketing and communications strategy, ensuring clarity, consistency, and confidence across all audiences.
- Partner closely with the CEO, executive leadership team, and HR to develop and execute change management communications tied to evolving priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on strategic narrative, executive messaging, and stakeholder communications, including town halls, leadership updates, and board-level materials.
- Play a central role in articulating and socializing WildBrain’s story and unique position in-market, aligning messaging across internal and external channels.
Internal Communications
- Own and evolve WildBrain’s internal communications strategy, ensuring employees understand the company’s direction, strategy, and how their work contributes to long-term success.
- Partner with HR to strengthen WildBrain’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP), employer brand, and culture narrative, supporting talent attraction, engagement, and retention.
- Oversee communications related to people initiatives, leadership changes, organizational updates, and company-wide programs, with a strong lens on transparency and trust.
- Work with the internal communications team to ensure internal channels, content cadence, and leadership communications are effective, engaging, and fit for a global organization.
Corporate Brand, External Communications & Reputation
- Steward WildBrain’s corporate brand positioning, ensuring it reflects the company’s strategic priorities and future focus across all touchpoints.
- Oversee external communications including corporate announcements, press releases, thought leadership, industry speaking opportunities, and executive visibility, led by the Senior Director of Global Corporate and Trade Communications.
- Work closely with the Communications team to manage media relations, issues management, and reputational risk.
- Identify opportunities to elevate WildBrain’s profile through strategic storytelling, partnerships, and industry engagement.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and support a high-performing marketing and communications team, providing clarity, direction, and continuity during the maternity leave period.
- Drive strong collaboration across MarCom, HR, Investor Relations, Audience Engagement, Studios, Franchise and Licensing teams to ensure alignment and avoid duplication.
- Ensure clear prioritization, governance, and resourcing across initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
- Oversee agency relationships and external partners, ensuring high standards, efficiency, and alignment with WildBrain’s strategy.
- Progressive experience in corporate marketing, communications, or related roles, ideally within media, entertainment, technology, or a similarly complex organization.
- Senior leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and advising executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in change management communications, internal communications, and executive messaging.
- Strong experience partnering with HR on EVP, employer branding, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to distill complex strategies into clear, compelling narratives.
- High degree of comfort working in ambiguous, transitional environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience in a public company environment is strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, calm under pressure, and known for strong follow-through and stakeholder trust.
