The Vice-President of Commercial and Farm Pricing is responsible for the development and implementation of pricing and rate segmentation strategies for Commercial and Farm products at CGIC and CUMIS General. The incumbent is also responsible for providing Sovereign with enterprise level actuarial services such as actuarial tools and guidance, financial planning support and portfolio rate assessments.
How you will create impact:- Developing and maintaining commercial and farm pricing and segmentation strategies that emphasize the balance between profitability and growth and align with corporate strategies.
- Overseeing the completion of regular profitability reviews in accordance with actuarial best practices and proactively identifying underlying trends and strategies to address them.
- Leading strategic project planning, initiation, execution, and benefits realization for commercial and farm product pricing projects and contributing to and supporting other strategic projects.
- Collaborating with peers to oversee operations, including actively managing the business, accurate rate implementation, and understanding regulatory risk to influence and maintain compliant business processes.
- Inspiring and motivating your leadership team to define and execute strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing leadership talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, diverse, and agile culture.
- Provide the following Pricing Alliance shared services for all product lines: overall rate level indications, pricing innovations, processes and controls, risk accumulation management.
To join our team:
- You have seven years of experience in Commercial Lines Pricing in the Canadian P&C market, including consumer-based rate setting, product development, segmentation, and underwriting, as well as people leadership experience.
- You have a post-secondary degree and have completed the Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation.
- Having the Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and/or the Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designation(s) would be an asset.
- You have expert knowledge of actuarial pricing, business strategy, commercial and farm products, and insurance concepts, practices, and regulatory bodies.
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
