About the Department

Franklin Templeton is seeking a VP Regional Sales (External Wholesaler) to join the Retail Sales team. This team is at the forefront of connecting advisors and their clients with the full breadth of our global investment capabilities. Spanning traditional asset management, alternatives, and wealth solutions, our platform gives sales professionals the opportunity to bring differentiated ideas and solutions to some of the industry’s most important client relationships.

Role Summary

As a Vice President, Regional Sales (External Wholesaler), you will play a critical role in expanding Franklin Templeton's presence across the Canadian retail wealth market by building and deepening relationships with financial advisors throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Partnering closely with an AVP Regional Sales and internal sales team, you will deliver investment insights, identify growth opportunities, and position Franklin Templeton's broad suite of investment solutions, including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, alternative investments, and wealth management strategies, to help advisors meet their clients' evolving needs. This is a highly visible, relationship-driven role that offers the opportunity to influence business growth, represent a globally recognized investment manager, and bring innovative solutions to some of the industry's most important advisor relationships.

How You Will Add Value

Core Responsibilities

  • Partner with the AVP Regional Sales and Sales Associate to develop and execute territory plans that achieve sales and activity targets, ensure comprehensive advisor coverage, and maintain accurate advisor data.

  • Support 700 advisory relationships mainly in downtown and mid-town Toronto.

  • Identify and communicate product opportunities.

  • Participate in team meetings and align strategies.

  • Build lasting relationships and understand evolving client needs.

  • Deliver presentations that clearly communicate product value.

  • Collaborate with internal teams for seamless client service.

  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes.

  • Represent Franklin Templeton at industry events.

  • Uphold compliance and ethical standards.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role

Experience, Education & Certifications

  • 7+ years of sales experience in investment management or financial services.

  • Proven success selling mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and alternative investments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required; MBA, CFA designation, and/or a recognized financial planning designation preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and investment processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tools like Morningstar, Bloomberg and YCharts.

  • Comfortable with CRMs, video conferencing, and social media.

Soft Skills

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, results-driven, and able to work independently.

  • Strong problem solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Comfortable with frequent travel.

Work Schedule & Location
  • Standard hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Flexible start time available.

  • Working from home office.

  • Work location: Downtown and mid-town Toronto

This role will be required to be registered with applicable securities regulators and will be designated as an Officer of the Company.

We expect the annual salary for this position to range between $97,000-$125,000, depending on location and level of relevant experience, plus commissions and discretionary bonus.
