Support and manage real-time EMS and SCADA data systems for Alberta’s power grid. Responsibilities include configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining control systems, telemetry, communications, and operating system software; supporting grid connections, DNP3 and ICCP protocols, AGC, NERC CIP compliance, data analysis, incident management, and project implementation. The role also provides 24/7 on-call support and collaborates with IT and internal and external stakeholders.

Two-year engineering graduate program with four six-month rotations across AESO business units. Responsibilities include power system modeling, power flow, stability and short-circuit studies, outage analysis, real-time operations applications, reliability compliance, engineering reports, stakeholder materials, functional specifications, programming-based study tools, and technical support. Graduates are placed into a permanent engineering role after completing the rotations.
