Own projects from concept through implementation, collaborate with product, engineering, brand, and marketing teams, and ensure assets are accessible, performant, and production-ready.

Architect, build, and operate large-scale relational and distributed SQL database infrastructure. Responsibilities include control-plane automation, provisioning, failover, backups, upgrades, zero-downtime migrations, Kubernetes networking, connection proxy optimization, reliability monitoring, capacity planning, and on-call support. The role also involves technical leadership, roadmap ownership, code quality standards, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Lead analytics for international market expansion, establishing scalable measurement, reporting, dashboards, data models, and operational analytics frameworks. Identify growth and profitability opportunities, define metrics, analyze performance, design experiments, and translate findings into business recommendations. Own Affirm Canada's post-delinquency collections and recoveries strategy, including digital and outbound collections, agency placement, and post-charge-off recovery. Analyze performance, design experiments, quantify initiatives, manage vendor scorecards, and improve recovery outcomes. Partner with Product, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment with Canadian consumer protection, collections, and privacy regulations, while collaborating with international teams.

Lead Affirm’s enterprise AI security review program, threat-model AI and LLM applications, assess agentic systems and tool permissions, and design automated guardrails, controls, monitoring, and policy-as-code. Review code, prompts, configurations, vendors, and SaaS AI capabilities; develop testing and red-team scenarios; identify emerging vulnerabilities; support incident response; and lead cross-functional initiatives across Security, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance.

Design and build scalable backend systems, APIs, data models, event-driven services, experimentation platforms, and personalization systems. Partner with Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Design teams to support customer acquisition and engagement. Establish secure, observable, high-performance engineering practices, mentor junior engineers, and participate in monitoring, on-call, and operational support.

Write and refine copy for email, push notifications, in-app messaging, and web. Collaborate with product, marketing, design, engineering, and legal teams to develop messaging frameworks, maintain voice and tone, support campaigns, and optimize content through A/B testing and performance analysis. Ensure messaging is clear, scalable, user-centric, and compliant with regulatory standards across Affirm’s digital experiences.

Build and improve reliable, scalable frontend experiences for Affirm’s pre-checkout products, including Affirm.js, promotional messaging, experimentation, and developer-facing tooling. Use browser debugging, monitoring, metrics, and testing tools to maintain accessible, performant cross-browser experiences. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, contribute to code reviews, troubleshoot operational issues, and write clear, well-tested, extensible code.

Own and deliver high-availability authentication, verification, and fraud experiences across web, backend, and mobile interfaces. Lead quarterly goals, technical planning, system delivery, code quality, operational availability, and on-call support. Collaborate with product, design, and analytics stakeholders, resolve complex technical and business issues, mentor engineers, and promote engineering standards. The role requires expertise in React or Vue, JavaScript or TypeScript, large codebases, scalable architecture, and effective communication.
