The Sr Substation Engineer will manage lifecycle maintenance engineering for substation equipment, leading assessments and improvement initiatives to optimize performance and reliability.

Provide high-level administrative support to the VP Operations and Operations leadership: manage calendars, correspondence, meetings, travel, expense and VISA reconciliations, minute-taking, budget support, and confidential matters while coordinating resources and prioritizing competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Provide operational meteorological forecasting, weather intelligence, and decision support for wildfire mitigation, field operations, and a 24/7 control centre. Own weather tools, models, station network, and wildfire detection cameras; interpret fire weather risk and deliver clear operational guidance, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in forecasting processes and situational awareness.

Provide high-level administrative support to the VP, External Affairs and team, managing calendars, correspondence, meeting preparation, travel and expense reconciliation, stakeholder coordination, budget assistance, and confidential matters. Represent the office externally, prioritize tasks, take minutes, follow up on action items, and support team resource planning and events.

Support financial monitoring and control for transmission projects: maintain SAP project data, prepare estimates/forecasts/billings, ensure GAAP and regulatory compliance, perform cost analysis, change control, monthly status reports, and advise Project Managers on cost performance and risks.

Support execution of AltaLink's DA project portfolio by maintaining project financial data, performing cost control, preparing estimates/forecasts/billings, assessing invoices and change notices, ensuring SAP project setup and governance compliance, interfacing with PMs, EPCs and stakeholders, and producing monthly capital reports and budget support.

Perform lifecycle assessments and condition monitoring for telecom equipment in the transmission system. Develop maintenance standards, troubleshooting procedures, sparing and replacement plans, investigate systemic defects, support preventative maintenance programs, and collaborate with field staff, vendors and internal stakeholders to improve reliability and optimize cost, risk and performance.

The Senior Compliance Engineer will support the Compliance team to ensure adherence to Alberta Reliability Standards, manage compliance assessments, and lead investigations into non-compliance events.
