Deputy to the Chief Engineer responsible for leading engineering personnel, planning and executing maintenance and repairs, managing spares and fuel operations, ensuring environmental compliance, supporting safety investigations, and maintaining the shipboard management system and risk assessments.

Responsible for overall vessel safety readiness, equipment certification and maintenance, incident investigation, safety inspections and drills, ensuring compliance with statutory and company HSE requirements, supervising safety personnel, and reviewing management system improvements. Reports to the Staff Captain.

Lead the engine room team, ensuring the operation of engines and machinery. Requires 12 months of relevant experience and STCW certification.
