Lead Android technical direction and build Kotlin experiences focused on user growth and subscription revenue. Partner with Growth, Marketing, CRO, and Sponsorships to run experiments, improve conversion, and enable self-service marketing tools. Own the mobile marketing technology stack, funnel instrumentation, analytics, feature flagging, safe rollouts, performance, accessibility, architecture, and code quality for a consumer app serving millions of readers.

Design, build, and operate scalable backend services for Ground News’s consumer platform. Own customer-facing features end to end, collaborate across departments, improve observability, reliability, and performance, and safely roll out and monitor new developments. The role requires strong TypeScript and Node.js experience, relational database knowledge, caching or search-system familiarity, and a demonstrated history of shipping reliable services at scale.

Lead technical direction of Ground News web properties to drive subscriber conversion. Own architecture, experimentation infrastructure, migrations (marketing-tech), performance, accessibility, SEO, Core Web Vitals, safe rollout practices, and enable non-engineers to run experiments without engineering support.
