Design, build, scale, and optimize backend services powering the sportsbook marketplace. Own GraphQL APIs, gRPC endpoints, SQL performance, monitoring, on-call and release duties. Identify production bottlenecks, drive scalability improvements, mentor engineers, review cross-team changes, and deliver end-to-end features in an agile environment.

The role involves assisting traders, supporting market setups and app testing, monitoring betting content, and handling compliance checks. Effective communication and sports knowledge are essential.

Build performant, accessible front-end applications using React and TypeScript. Partner with product and design to ship features, improve code quality, write thorough automated tests, use observability and profiling tools to diagnose issues, collaborate on CI/CD and testing pipelines, mentor teammates, and participate in agile design and delivery.

Monitor sportsbook markets, prices, liabilities and promotions in real time; assist traders with grading, manual market creation, customer queries, exposure reporting, and fraud/bonus-abuse escalation; perform price comparisons, add bet notes, and learn player profiling and risk segmentation to support a 24/7 trading operation.

Lead design and delivery of platform capabilities for a federated GraphQL and event-driven architecture. Build and optimize gRPC endpoints, GraphQL APIs, and SQL/Postgres queries. Own observability (DataDog, Bugsnag), scalability, reliability, incident response, and integrations. Mentor engineers and drive cross-team technical efforts to reduce friction and accelerate product delivery.

Maintain and scale Alley-oop, the company design system: build reusable UI components, patterns, and documentation in Figma; ensure accessibility (WCAG); support product designers and engineers to accelerate delivery; advocate for adoption, shape roadmap and governance, run workshops, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive consistent, scalable design.

Design, administer, and optimize Postgres databases on cloud-native platforms. Triage and remediate production database incidents, manage replication/backups, evaluate schemas and queries for performance, and build repeatable DB architecture using IaC and GitOps for AWS/GCP Kubernetes environments.

Design high-impact, on-brand graphics and short-form video for social platforms; create visuals for trending sports content and betting updates; edit videos and produce memes; collaborate with content, social, and marketing teams to deliver timely creative under tight deadlines while maintaining brand consistency.
