OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross® has a temporary (12 month) immediate opening for an Account Manager to join our team. Working in a flexible work style arrangement, reporting to the Manager of Group Sales in Edmonton, the position focuses on managing, servicing, cultivating and retaining group clients for an existing book of health benefit plans of small to midsized employer groups in the Edmonton and surrounding area. The Group Account Manager will be responsible for retention of existing clients, adding benefit lines of coverage, plan design revisions and adding new products and services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage small to midsized group accounts.

  • Modernize existing plans, updating contractual provisions.

  • Complete and present add on sales proposals and/or plan revisions.

  • Meet or exceed a quarterly sales and retention quota.

  • Collaborate with all sales and service staff to ensure sales objectives are met.

  • Manage plan revisions with a focus on retaining existing business.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Preference will be given to those with previous health insurance policies and procedures experience.

  • Life, accident & sickness insurance licensing will be a mandatory requirement.

  • Must possess a strong aptitude for the sales process and a desire to learn all aspects of our business.

  • Must be self-motivated, maintain a positive attitude and be able to work independently.

  • Must be comfortable making calls in person, over the phone, on-line, or by email.

  • Must be and deal effectively with the public, peers, superiors and co-workers.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent communication skills.

  • Must possess a strong analytical ability, with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
