Mission:  

Your mission is to be the financial steward of our organization. This involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records by meticulously managing transactions under ASPE, translating complex data into clear financial stories, and providing invaluable insights to guide our strategic direction.


What you will do as our Accountant:

  • Process payments
  • Process employees' expense reports and ensure they are following the policies in place
  • Assist with AR collection
  • Ensure corporations are complying with the Canadian Tax Act and ASPE
  • Lead month-end and assist with the year-end close process
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Verify receipts, income tax returns, financial statements, ledgers, and other documents pertaining to finances within an organization
  • Supporting the Controller with workflow process improvement and pursuing special projects
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department’s workflow
  • Making sure the finance team meets all financial reporting deadlines
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Assist with or supervise internal and external audits and tax audits and tax returns to ensure compliance
  • Assist with claims of Government grants
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and produce budget according to the schedule
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Develop reporting standards for future use within the organization
  • Prepare financial documents for the government, the organization or other governing bodies
  • Monitoring and analyzing the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Collaborate with and supervise external partners ensuring the respect of accounting procedures in place for all respective subsidiaries

  • Strong familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Ability to operate in a multi-company, multi-currency environment
  • Experience with SaaS type of companies
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • An excellent knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Knowledge of Canadian financial laws

Montreal pay range

$70,000$80,000 CAD
