We’re looking for an administrative assistant for our Medical Aid team. In this role you must provide timely and efficient administrative support to our Medical Aid team. You must have both technical and interpersonal skills including Microsoft Office (Excel), typing, teamwork, customer service and communication.

Considered candidates will undergo computer skill testing, including a Microsoft Excel assessment.

To be an Administrative Assistant at WCB-Alberta, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who takes initiative, thinks strategically, and can manage conflict. 

Your Administrative Assistant responsibilities:

  • Collect, calculate and report statistics: Produce daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports; maintain statistical Excel database.
  • Coordinate and perform clerical functions: Organize, schedule and transcribe team meetings, including make reservations, arrange materials and distribute information; and process complex memos, letters, file updates, monthly and ad-hoc reports, statistics, etc.
  • Provide technical support: Maintain office supply levels; monitor condition of office machines; and troubleshoot for minor equipment or software package challenges.

Your experience and skills:

  • Minimum of high school diploma supplemented with administration certificate or administration courses.
  • 2 years related experience. 
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
  • Minimum typing performance of 50 WPM.

  • Experience with medical terminology.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.

  • Reliable, adaptable to change, with strong time management skills.

Salary: Pay Grade 5 $46,924 to $52,131 per annum

This position is temporary for a period of up to 6 months. Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
